Hello everyone, we're back! LAWKI has been on a bit of a hiatus the past several months while our creative staff has been working on many different projects, but LAWKI is back in action. The release of the next Zine wont be till the spring of 2013, but in the meantime LAWKI Productions will be working on other art/ culture related projects.
The first thing on the agenda is the Hurricane Sandy Relief Benefit Show to raise money for those in desperate need of help after this horrible storm. Come out to the Revolutionary Lounge in Toms River, NJ Sunday December 9th at 2pm to show support. Only $5 to help those in need(it adds up) and enjoy a day of some of NJ's most talented HipHop artists. It's a win/ win! More info soon TBA.

  Thanks to everyone who performed and everyone who came out to the LAWKI Zine vol. 7 release show! It was a great time, as always. It seems the shows are just getting better and better. Every show we get a little closer to our goal, spreading the movement, and the idea, that life will be what we make it, so we better make it worth while.

  We are currently uploading all the info from Vol. 7 onto the website.Everything will be up by Thursday, 4/12/12. Be sure to check out all the past issues and feel free to submit your work. We are building and every little bit helps. Thanks for reading, Namaste!

  LAWKI Vol.7 is in the works! We are still taking submissions until the 21st-ish. The release date and release show is on 3/31/12 @ The Cave in Beachwood NJ. Click here to visit our page on FB for more information and updates. Everyone is welcome to come to the show, its FREE & always a great time, with great people. There will be numerous hip-hop performers as well as some reggea and Indie rock/folk music. 1$ PBR's, 21+ to drink.
The only place you can get a copy of the Zine for free, here at the Cave. We're very excited about this issue, it's filled with fresh, new art, music reviews, interviews and some really great poetry.   The LAWKI Zine Vol 6 Year Anniversary Release Show was INSANE!! 1 indie rock band, 1 reggae singer, and 14 hiphop performances. The attendence was by far the best yet. The culture is building! Alive and healthy!

  We're just finishing up on all the final touches for the Autonomous Solo Art Show and Open Mic thats goin down tomorrow,10/08/2011, here at The Cave. There's going to be TONS of great art ranging in size & live painting by Autonomous! The show is free and starts at 6pm.   Glad to say LAWKI Zine Vol. 4 Release show was a great time! It was the first show using our new PA sound system and it sounded Awesome! Thanks to Bird Bath for donating a Mic to The Cave, we will def. put it to good use! And Thanks to all the preformers, those who came out to support, and all those who donated toward LAWKI. It's greatly appreciated! Looking forward to the next one in mid November! And as always we are accepting submissions for the next issue. Just fill out the form on the "Contact" page.   Guerrilla Warfare, Art is my Weapon! Preparing for tomorrow nights Graffiti Bomb Project, exercising our right to the First Amendment - an amendment to the Constitution of the United States guaranteeing the right of free expression; includes freedom of assembly and freedom of the press and freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
  This will be documented by a Journalist from Time Magazine, and I WILL have the Stencils up for yall to see on the website before I leave.
  The two 5'x5' stencils im makin will rep 1- the Junk Jerz Cru/ website, and 2- LAWKI Productions/ the website. Its all bout the culture!

  There's ALOT goin down with LAWKI Productions here at The Cave! First off I'd like to say that we are shipping out ALL orders of LAWKI Vol 1-3 tommorow. So to the people who have ordered copies, peep your mailbox in a couple days ;)

  Secondly, I'm STOKED to announce the "soon to be" launch of the LAWKI Online Radio Show (featuring a slideshow plus videos)! The show will be aired weekly right here on LifeAsWeKnowItZine.com (AND on our youtube channel), and will be 25% talk, 75% the best of Underground music. We have alot of goods to share with you already in episode 1 so def check it out.

  "So... LAWKI Productions is a couple days behind in work because of the hurricane. We relocated to west PA, now we're back at The Cave, but the powers out (transformer blew up) and they say it may take a couple days to get it back on due to the high volume of emergencies... As everyone knows, the LAWKI Productions show Aug 28th @ the Revo Lutionary Lounge is postponed till Sunday September 11th.

  AS FAR AS THE 30th: Travis Autonomous Applegate Solo Art Show @ the Cave, it will be postponed till further notice due to the power outage and other hurricane related circumstance. Check back for FREQUENT updates!"

  "Due to the hurricane sweeping thru this weekend, Sunday the 28ths show at the Revolutionary Lounge: "The Best Of Indie-HipHop" will be postponed till September 11th. THE SHOW WILL GO ON! This lil' hump is only going to build the suspense, because we got some AWESOME performances this show, and alot of tickets sold/ confirmed guests. This is gonna be the show that caps off the summer and leads us into the vibe of the autumn events!
  As for the "Autonomous Solo Art Show" @ the Cave on the 30th, that show may still go on...? We will def keep you posted on updates, its just all a matter of the weather.
  I'll be updating the site after the storm with lots of new stuff! new features, LAWKI Vol 4 info, etc! We've got alot of ideas over here at LAWKI Productions, and alot that we are soon to execute! For example: Autonomous Clothing/ LAWKI Ts, LAWKI Radio and/ or LAWKI TV, etc. LAWKI Vol 4 is gonna be AMAZING! I'm half way thru organizing submissions and its like we already got a full, potent Zine!

LAWKI Vol 1- 3 will be available soon in the Life As We Know It Store. BIG Thanks to those who left donations. Donations are very important being that the LAWKI Zine is free/ non-profit. Any money donated is used to publish future issues, cover some costs of shows, and build more for the community. The creative minds that come together to build LAWKI have produced a more interesting, more insightful Zine every issue so far!   "I'm happy to say LAWKI has been doin great! Theres alot goin on/ in the works as far as the Zine, shows, promotion, etc!

  First off, we are updating the site with all the LAWKI Vol 3 info.If a link doesnt work or something, no worries, all of the Vol 3 info(+More) will be added by the Zine release date. 
  The LAWKI Vol 3 Zine Release is this Saturday the 16th, featuring Junk Jerz(of course!) and bout a dozen of some of the best MC's the NJ Underground has to offer. The Zine itself this issue is amazing! We've got alot more organized and have added new elements to VOL 3. For one, we've organized the LAWKI Staff. You can find all details about that on the "About" page in the menu. We've also developed the Photo Gallery page more. It will now be found in the center of the zine in FULL COLOR! Haha, YES! We are hoping by Vol 4 we will be able to print the photo gallery on gloss photo paper, as well as the cover. Then eventualy do the same for the Visual Art page, etc. Another great thing about the photo gallery is we've added the best photographer I've ever come across, very talented and professional, Liz Cisco to the LAWKI Staff. She will be taking MOST of our pics and will be assisting in the gallery layout.
  Another element we've added is we replaced the "Reader Written" section with "Modern Anarchist Society" by Trip Levine, one of our Journalists. Reader Written in the first couple issues consisted 80% of Trip's literature, and we feel it definately needed its own section. Trip has officially joined the LAWKI staff as one of our top Journalists. You can read more about him on the "About" page in the menu.
  LAWKI Productions is also getting involved in curating shows outside of the Zine Release, the first one being "The Illest Hiphop Show Ever!" @ Revolutionary Lounge, Toms River NJ. We'll have flyers and invites comming late July. One thing i can tell you is, this show will feature a dozen of only THE ILLEST rappers in the NJ Underground! More info TBA soon!

Im glad everyone enjoyed themselves, but how could you not?!?!   "The name of the paperback zine and website "AutonomousLife" will be permanently changed to "Life As We Know It" starting this May, in order to seperate the cultural based movement from the artist, and not send people the wrong message, confuse people, or make it seem like its about my personal life.
  Ive been thinkin bout it and ive come to the conclusion that it must be very confusing to a 3rd party. The zine is about the nj underground culture NOT about my personal life. It actualy has very little to do with me, its 99% my peers. This Zine and website is truely built for the people, by the people. all i do is organize/ promote/ distribute it. next month www.AutonomousLife.com will be transfered to: LifeAsWeKnowItZine.com
  In further explanation: the definition of Autonomous is 1. Not controlled by others or by outside forces; independent
2. Independent in mind or judgment; self-directed.
thats why i felt itd be a good name for the zine if i just add "Life" on the end, but to somebody who doesnt know, it jus looks like im on an ego trip.
